About

A Traditional Church That Prioritizes People

The essence of our church lies in prioritizing people.

Creating a warm and welcoming environment is essential for fostering spiritual growth and building strong relationships within the community. This sense of belonging and connection helps our church thrive and fulfill its mission of honoring God, sharing the message of Christ, and serving others.

Rev. James Williams, Senior Pastor

Before joining GRMC in October 2024, Rev. Williams served 7 years as Sr. Minister at Centenary, the largest Methodist church in Kentucky, and 10 years at Winchester First United Methodist. Rev. Williams has held multiple leadership positions in the Kentucky Conference, serving as the Lexington District Superintendent and Dean of the Cabinet. His service includes 12 years on the Board of Ordained Ministry, chairing the Lexington District Board of Trustees, and leading the Kentucky Conference Evangelism Team. He was also elected as a delegate to the General Conference and served on the Southeastern Jurisdiction Committee on Nominations. Rev. Before joining GRMC in November 2025, Rev. Rev. Bacon has a deep passion for helping people of all ages grow as disciples of Jesus, nurturing knowledge, skill, and character through Scripture, community, and worship. His understanding of NextGen ministry and his heart for walking alongside Millennials, Gen Z, and beyond will be a tremendous blessing to Grace Resurrection as we continue to grow.

Rev. Bacon and his wife, Tiffany, have two daughters, Mary Nolen and Ruth. He enjoys podcasts, reading, exercising, and walking the family's German Shepherd, Bear. The Bacons have lived in Louisiana, Texas, and Kentucky, and are excited to plant roots in Marietta.

Our Experienced
Ministerial Team Emeritus

Our ministerial team was instrumental in growing multiple churches to become some of the largest churches in the Southeast. In 2022, each of these leaders came out of retirement to establish Grace Resurrection, a non-affiliated Methodist Church. After decades of ministry, they understand what it takes to transform and prosper a church.
