Who We Are

Who are we?

We are Grace Resurrection Methodist Church

We believe in:

Grace

God gives us grace and in turn, we freely give grace to others in His Kingdom.

Resurrection

Christ arose from the dead, giving salvation to others in His Kingdom.

Methodism

John Wesley emphasized prayer, Bible study, and the sacraments of Holy Communion and baptism.  Methodists believe in the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ and service to others in His Kingdom.

Church

The church is the Body of Christ worshipping in communion together, supporting each other, and serving the community and the world.

Mission

We exist to honor God,
share the message of Christ,
and serve others.

vision

Our vision is to create a thriving Church where people feel comfortable cultivating disciples, sharing God’s grace, and proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

meet Our ministers

Reverend Dr. Randy Mickler is Senior Minister for Grace Resurrection Methodist Church (GRMC). The new unaffiliated Grace Resurrection Methodist  congregation voted in late 2022 to call Randy into service as its lead pastor. Working closely with GRMC leaders voted by the congregation to steer our new church,  Randy is again building committed and active Christians, this time in a church raised literally from the ground-up to a now-thriving, congregation in East Cobb Marietta, Georgia.  Sundays are filled with Randy’s pulpit power.

Grace Resurrection Methodist Church has tripled in membership and regular attendance since its beginning in  Fall 2022.  In-church, community and broader reach missions, member activities and programs, and worship offerings of preaching, music and congregational participation are evident every day within the church and during worship services focused on “teaching Jesus.”

Our congregation is confident in Randy’s leadership to guide our Christian message, service and growth. Prior to Grace Resurrection’s call, Randy served as minister in several north Georgia churches and was Senior Minister at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church for 28 years in Marietta, Georgia.  He retired as “Elder in Full Connection” from the church and the United Methodist Church Georgia Conference in 2016.

During his Mt. Bethel tenure, membership grew from  less than 2,000 to approximately 10,000 members, making Mt. Bethel the third largest Methodist church in the country and the first largest in the North Georgia UMC conference.  Working with church leaders and larger congregation from 1988 – 2016, Randy led the creation of a multi-building and outdoor complex for worship, biblical study, children, youth and adult ministries, music programs complete with  vocal, instrumental and  performance worship,  community and global missions and outreach initiatives, and  an accredited Mt. Bethel Christian Academy that started with one Kindergarten class and now serves students in grades Kindergarten through High School.

Senior Minister Dr.  Randy Mickler honors Grace Resurrection Methodist with his commitment, time, talents, gifts, service, vision, and powerful sermons.

Reverend Charlie Marus is Associate Minister at Grace Resurrection Methodist Church (GRMC).  In late 2022, the newly formed unaffiliated GRMC called Charlie out of retirement  into active ministry  to provide leadership and great preaching in our new church.

During 2007 – 2021, Charlie served as Associate and then  Senior Minister in three United Methodist Churches in north Georgia and was Associate Minister at Mt. Bethel UMC from 2003 – 2007.  He retired in 2021 as “Elder in Full Connection” from Faith United Methodist Church and the North Georgia UMC Conference.

Our Grace Resurrection congregation is confident in Charlie’s leadership to guide our Christian message, service and growth.

At Mt. Bethel and afterwards while senior pastor in north Georgia churches, Charlie built a successful leadership reputation and gained the trust of his congregations to lead the way in communal Christian faith.

Charlie brings Grace Resurrection a special wealth of experience and base of  knowledge for building and sustaining successful church-based programs and activities for youth and children. He entered seminary to pursue the ministry while serving for several years as Director of Youth Ministries and Programs at Mt. Bethel UMC. Charlie continued his services to youth while completing his Masters degree program to serve as an ordained minister.

By ministering to and leading  small and large churches to grow and thrive during his postings, Charlie is known for bringing communities together to focus on the Word of God and the true meaning of Jesus in our lives and all the world.

Charlie opens his church doors and arms with warmth, humor and song to invite all worshippers to live every day believing in God’s merciful  presence and by the promise in Jesus’ Resurrection.
